Programme

Currently, the School of Mathematics offers 5-year integrated M.Sc. programme in Mathematics. This programme consists of 10 semesters. The programme has a balanced semester-based course structure with a flexible seamless curricula which emphasize interdisciplinary nature of science in the 21st century and promote exploration, innovation and research.

In the first two semester, the students have to study biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, computers, earth sciences and humanity courses which helps them to have sound knowledge in every basic science areas. The specialization starts from 3rd semester onwards and they belong to School of Mathematics. Even after specialization in second year, students are required to go through a certain number of courses in other desciplines. All students are required to go through a small number of compulsory courses in humanities, technical communication, history of science, environmental and energy sciences. In the fifth year every student will undertake a guided research project.

The school will conduct integrated MSc and PhD and PhD in Mathematics at appropriate stage.
